Who is that funny looking bloke?

Every year at the office we all get involved in doing a Secret Santa.

I few weeks back I went round the office getting everyone to pick a name out of the hat, and when the xmas tree arrived, people started putting their gifts under the tree in anticipation of Santa arriving.

By special arrangement (as he is a bit busy on 25 December) he was coming into our office on 18 December.

Santa was looking as though he needed a few more mince pies when he first showed up, but I took him off and tried to find him a bit of stuffing.

Then we set off round the office, Santa and his little helpers, me and Emma T. First the Admin department, then off upstairs to the Payroll, VAT, Agriculture, Tax and Accounts departments and finally the Limited team were handed out their presents.

Santa had a jolly word to say to everyone, or a not so jolly word to say to those he thought had been naughty. Some people like Tim, got to sit on Santa’s knee and some got a special Christmas kiss. There were loads of lovely gifts, from wine, beauty packs, and jewellery to more unusual gifts like, sexy underwear, naughty calendars and a space hopper.

But who was this masked man really?

He was certainly quite, fit getting round the office in record time, so he must be a bit sporty and his voice sounded pretty familiar, infact our own Jack Clegg only reappeared after Santa left the building. Hmmmm!

Merry Christmas everyone.

Aspatria Rugby Club Sponsored Day

Saturday 6 December was our infamous sponsorship day at Aspatria Rugby Club.

Every year, we like to invite clients and contacts to join us and watch a rugby match at the Aspatria club and we have a complimentary bar open for our guests during the afternoon. This is a great way for us to thank people for their business during the year.

The day started at around 1pm. Clients came from all over the county but many arrived on the 12.45 train from Carlisle which was jammed full with our invited guests and staff. Having sampled a drink or two and had a bite to eat from the fantastic buffet which was laid on by the club’s ladies committee, the match kicked off at 2.30pm.

This year the team were up against a very good Sandal side who were sitting 3rd in the league. Our very own staff member, Jack Clegg was playing for the Aspatria team and they went on to win the match 38-6 which was a surprise to many people including avid supporters of the club. Having had a spell of very frosty weather, we were not sure whether the match would have to be called off, but the sun came out and we have had great feedback from people saying what a fantastic day it was.

Back in the club house, I announced the winners of our guess the score competition and thanked everyone for coming. The rugby club also had their own raffle and there are three winning raffle tickets still unclaimed yet, so if your number was any of these then let us know.
