On Friday 9 February I was delighted to attend the Ayrshire Cattle Society and Dumfries Ayrshire Breeders Sportsman’s Dinner held at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries along with a number of our clients and professional contacts.
The Ayrshire Cattle Society and Dumfries Ayrshire Breeders is a forward thinking, highly motivated breed society dedicated to keeping the Ayrshire at the forefront of modern dairying.
The event was well attended with people traveling from far and wide and was hosted by Ian McIntyre, President of the Robert Burns World Federation.
The evening commenced with a drinks reception where guests had the opportunity to mingle, before taking seats at their table to enjoy what was a delicious three course meal. Afterwards we were all thoroughly entertained, initially by Robbie Duncan, CEO of Quest Farm Supplies, Northern European division based in Kilmarnock. Robbie shared an insight into his role at Quest Farm Supplies where he acts as an adviser for many farmers, sharing his expertise on nutrition and how he can help farmers achieve the best from their herd. Following Robbie was Tam Cowan, one of Scotland’s favourite television and radio presenters, and top newspaper columnist. With his cutting wit and energy Tam was a huge hit amongst guests as he shared many a story from his career to date which generated lots of laughs across the room. Both gentleman kept us all amused with various stories from their working lives.
The evening was a super success and we would like to thank the event organisers for organising such a great evening. We’re already looking forward to next years.
