It's not every morning you can say you had breakfast with your local MP, but this morning I joined John Stevenson along with other local business men and women for one of his breakfast meeting at our offices here in Dalston.
It was great to have leaders of local businesses here, Billy Mallinson of Mallinson Fabrications, Debbie Goodland of Walton Goodland to name but a few. After the obligatory bacon rolls and Danish pastries we got down to business, I introduced John Stevenson with a brief outline of how he fell into politics. We enjoyed a lively discussion on the issues that effect local business in our region.
The main topic was the Local Development framework and Jane Meek and Gareth Ellis from the City Council advised on the process and timing.
It was great to see everyone and to hear the different opportunities available to businesses in Cumbria.
