On Friday 18 May Emma Miller and I had the pleasure of visiting Harrison and Hetherington (H&H), Carlisle on behalf of David Allen, where we sponsored the British Blue spring show and sale of bulls and females.
The Sale at Carlisle saw two bulls top 10,000gns. The first was the second bull into the ring Almeley Kendrick from Graham Morgan. Sired by Drybarrows Cawdale and out of Rosemount Faith this bull was purchased by JR Cussons & Sons from Scarborough.
Also at 10,000gns was Kevin Watret’s Solway View Levi, sired by Solway View Firecracker and out of Bringlee Evadine this bull comes from a proven show line and continued this success when he won his class at the pre-sale show.
In the female section Tiplady’s Malibu from RJ Tiplady sold for the top price of 4500gns. This maiden heifer by Tweeddale Ironman had also won her class at the pre-sale show.
As well as our client Richard Tiplady’s success, another of our clients, Ross and Elaine Pattinson achieved senior champion and sent best wishes and good luck to the Bailie family who purchased their bull at 8,000gns.
We are delighted to support H&H and see the success of our clients first hand. Emma and I enjoyed catching up with clients and talking to potential new clients about the range of services offered by our dedicated farming team at David Allen, which add real value to those we work with.
Following a day at the show and sale, I was delighted to attend the British Blue Cattle Society Annual General Meeting which was held at The Auctioneer in Carlisle. It was great to see the meeting well attended by members who are extremely passionate about the breed’s success. I was delighted to attend both of these events on behalf of David Allen Agriculture.
