Michael Peile and I both attended Saturday’s Carlisle match (13 April 2013) at Brunton Park, along with some clients of David Allen and David Allen Financial Services.
We enjoyed a superb three course meal overlooking the pitch before the game in Foxy’s hospitality area, and for those, including myself, wanting some fresh air, we then watched the game from the Edinburgh Woolen Mill.
In front of Carlisle’s largest attendance of the season, the home players started the game too slowly and found themselves behind as early as the 12th minute to a superb individual goal from Preston’s Jeffrey Monakana. However they gradually got back into the game and equalised 7 minutes before the break through a Lee Miller tap in.
After a couple of half time drinks with our guests back in Foxy’s, we watched the second half again from the stand, which came to life with a red card shown to Preston’s Wroe. However Carlisle could not make the extra man advantage pay off, and despite a late flurry in the Preston box, the game played out to draw.
We then all met up again in Foxy’s, where World Cup Legend Jack Charlton was also present, and our guests were able to get some pictures with him. Our guests, Michael and I all left the ground about 7pm, after a great afternoon.
