Today, I attended a meeting held at Richard Rose Morton to explain to our local Councillors how the Career Academies project is aiming to fulfill the overall aim of the academy which is to integrate it within the community.
43 students are involved in the project with 60 businesses offering the mentor facility, work experience, internships, practice interviews and other support.
The new building and facilities on offer along with the academy project has boosted the efforts of all users of the facilities. They have already seen an increased student attendance level, higher work quality and parents evening attendance throughout the academy has risen from 35% to 90% which is fantastic.
We are looking forward to continuing to help and get to know our mentee's over the coming months with some informal bowling on Thursday night.
