We were delighted to attend Carlisle Skills Fair on Thursday 26 January, organised again by local MP John Stevenson at The Sands Centre. The Skills Fair brings together local employers, careers advisers and training providers to exhibit and showcase the range of exciting employment and training opportunities available throughout Cumbria.
The event attracted a great audience from eager students about to complete their GSCE’s, through to experienced adults looking for a change of direction in their career.
Representatives from the David Allen team manned our stand throughout the event. Melanie and Jordan shared their experiences around their training and the differing routes they have both taken so far on their accountancy career journeys. Not many people realise that there are a number of different routes into accountancy, you can start your training right after your GCSEs or your A Levels or you could take a different route after completing a university course – the choice is entirely yours! I on the other hand provided an insight into the other roles available including administration, IT and my own expertise in marketing to name but a few.
At David Allen we strongly believe in investing in our people, their training and their future. We are proud to be associated with, and have a stand at the Skills Fair for the fourth year running. It was a great to meet so many people passionate about their future careers and with bright futures ahead of them.
Thank you to everyone that popped by our stand, we look forward to seeing everyone next year!
