We were delighted to attend Carlisle Skills Fair on Thursday 31 January, organised again by local MP John Stevenson at The Sands Centre. The Skills Fair which has established itself as an annual event in our calendar, brings together local employers, career advisers and training providers with students and those looking for a different job or a new career opportunity to learn more about the many exciting opportunities throughout Cumbria.
There were many representatives from across the county, including CenterParcs, Pirelli, Tesco and the Royal Air Force to name but a few.
The event, which ran from 3pm until 7pm attracted a great audience from eager students about to complete their GSCE’s, through to experienced adults looking for a change of direction in their career.
Representatives from the David Allen group manned our stand throughout the day to greet visitors and provide advice and information on the different routes into accountancy along with details of all the other valuable career opportunities available at David Allen, from Tax Advisers to Financial Advisers, roles in marketing to Debt Recovery Specialists.
Our team were on hand throughout the day to share their experiences around their training and the differing routes they have each taken so far on their career journeys. Not many people realise that there are a number of different routes into accountancy, you can start your training straight after your GCSEs or your A Levels or you could take a different route after completing a university course – the choice is entirely yours!
At David Allen we are passionate about investing in our people and their futures and were extremely proud to be associated with, and have a stand at, the Skills Fair. It was great to meet so many enthusiastic people with bright futures ahead of them and would like to thank those that stopped by our stand to say hello. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.
