Charity Fashion Show

David Allen

Thursday 10 March saw the second of our Fashion Show events as part of our fundraising for the David Allen Charity of the Year initiative.

Over 90 people flocked to Dalston Recreational Hall to be entertained by Shop2Drop, a fashion show and sale organisation from Manchester, who present shows throughout the year, across the country. With models presenting over 30 items of clothing from a range of high street brands including Monsoon, Marks and Spencer and Zara, guests were treated to a fantastic evening of fashion at reduced prices, with up to 75% off the recommended retail price.

I was delighted to both open and close the event on behalf of the Fundraising Team at David Allen.  During the evening there was a raffle with a variety of prizes on offer and our thanks go to those who kindly donated these. We also held a ‘Lucky Number’ draw with a cash prize of £50 for the winner.  This was won by Anne Grant – well done!  Guests were all provided with a complimentary drink on arrival with a bar service running throughout the rest of the evening offering a range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

Shop2Drop aim to help individuals and businesses raise funds for their chosen charities with all ticket money raised directly benefiting these good causes.  As part of our Charity of the Year initiative David Allen is raising funds for two chosen local charities, Eden Valley Hospice and Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland.  Both are very deserving and the funds raised will go to help provide care to people who suffer from life limiting illnesses.

I am delighted to announce that the evening raised more than £750 and I would like to thank everyone that came along to make it such a huge success!

Thank you to Shop2Drop and Anne McKerrel of Dalston for their support.  We would also like to thank The Loft at Orton Grange, The Bridge End, Dalston, West Cumbria Taekwondo, Ullswater Steamers, Stanwix Park Holiday Centre, The Golf Hotel Silloth, Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for their kind dontations of raffle prizes.

Our next fundraising event is a Race Night which will be held on Saturday 7 May, again in Dalston Recreational Hall.  Tickets will be on sale soon from our Dalston office or Roseberry Floral Design in Dalston village – watch this space for more information.
