Christmas at David Allen

It’s been feeling a lot like Christmas in the David Allen offices this month.  We’ve all had a great time getting into the swing of the festive season raising money for charity along the way.

We all donned our Christmas jumpers on 12 December for Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and on the 19 December we held the first ever David Allen Great Christmas Bake Off!  Plenty of members of the David Allen team dusted off their aprons and wielded their rolling pins to make Christmas goodies in aid of Eden Valley Hospice.

Our eager bakers competed for first place in their chosen category (mince pies, yule log, biscuits, traybake or Christmas cupcakes), these were then blindly judged by our very own versions of Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.  The judges tasted, checked for soggy bottoms and pondered every entry and after some tight competition our winners were crowned with Sarah Priestley winning for her carrot cake yule log, Julie Osborn for her chocolate orange cupcakes, Sheryl Dobson for her heart and star chocolate biscuits and Elizabeth Gregory for her gold dusted mince pies.  All of the delicious bakes were then put on sale with the proceeds of the sales going to Eden Valley Hospice.

We must have all been very good in the David Allen offices this year as Santa visited us not once, but twice on Friday!  The first time he was kind enough to deliver all of our office secret Santa presents (equipped with his very own sleigh).  He then visited again later on in the afternoon with a couple of helpers from the Allen family as David, Alison and their children treated everyone to their annual lucky dip present.  Each of us picked a number out of a hat with presents ranging from fancy cosmetics, chocolates and bottles of fizz to an iPad Mini.  The grand prize of the iPad Mini was won by Gloria from our Admin team, needless to say she was overwhelmed by the gift.

Even our resident calf Finlay has been getting in the festive spirit by making his on-stage debut in the St Michael’s pre-school nativity in Dalston.

We all feel so lucky to work for such an amazing company and to be part of the David Allen family.

From everyone at David Allen we would like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.
