Last night, Thursday 17 October, saw some of Cumbria’s most influential business men and women dress to the nines for the glitzy 2014 CN Group Business Awards. The awards took place at Carlisle Racecourse and boasted over 250 of the county’s leading professionals, including some of the David Allen team.
We were once again really proud to support the Rising Star award which recognises an individual’s outstanding contribution through exceptional commitment, leadership and vision. The nominees this year proved themselves to be instrumental in the success of their businesses.
Our Business Development Manager, Kerrie Allison, awarded the winner Marie Tattersall of Acorns Pre-School with her well-deserved Rising Star award. Marie opened Acorns Pre-School in 2011 and provides children and babies with a challenging and effective learning experience. She has successfully grown her business over the years and plans to expand her service offering to enable her to provide overnight care. Marie has received fantastic praise from Ofsted who called her “inspirational in striving for high quality and continuous improvement”.
The Rising Star award is close to our hearts at David Allen and as a practice we are committed to investing in and developing our own people. We have created an environment whereby all members of our team are encouraged to develop their skills and knowledge to best support our client’s and their businesses. The success of individual businesses in Cumbria is key to the ongoing economic growth of the county and ensuring all of our rising stars can flourish means we not only help the businesses of today but also, those of tomorrow.
The evening was arguably the best CN Business Awards to date and Carlisle Racecourse did a fantastic job of hosting the event serving up some delicious food along the way.
Well done to all of the nominees and congratulations to all of the award winners.
