In June a team from David Allen will be donning their helmets and lycra to cycle the breadth of the country from the West to the East Coast. This challenge will see them cycle a whopping 150 miles in three days!
On 5 June Vicky Johnston, Lisa Irving, Kerrie Allison, Alison Allen and Robert Nordon will be will be dipping their bike tyres into the Irish Sea at Whitehaven and setting off to cycle across the breadth and backbone of England.
Over the three days the team will cycle the 150 mile journey through the beautiful Lake District, over the roof of England and the Northern Pennines and downhill to their destination of Tynemouth on the East Coast.
The team are taking part in this challenge to support Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland who are a wonderful local charity offering free and invaluable support to those at the end stage of life who prefer to be cared for in their own homes.
Please do not be fooled – the team are not keen cyclists and this will be a HUGE challenge for them all (some of the team haven’t even been on a bike in the last decade!).
The team have set up a JustGiving page to raise money for this fantastic cause and will be holding numerous fundraising events, both in and out of the office, to raise as much money as possible for this local cause.
We have already held a coffee morning across our three offices, had a dress-down day in the office (how often do you see your accountant in their jeans?!) and have lots of exciting fundraising events planned before the big challenge takes place.
Our team know that with every mile they can make a difference to lives in Cumbria, if you would like to make a donation or sponsor us please visit www.justgiving.com/DavidAllenC2C.
