The annual Cockermouth and District Agricultural Show took place on Saturday 2 August with representatives from David Allen Agriculture, Accountancy, Recovery Solutions, Wealth Management and IT Solutions News in attendance throughout the day.
With the weather forecast showing weather warnings for the day, and rain throughout the day as we set up our stand on Friday, everyone had their fingers crossed that the sun would make an appearance as it had in previous weeks.
Although the weather wasn’t the best, with grey skies and showers all day, we had a great time and spirits were high with everyone embracing the bad weather. We were able to catch up with existing clients and had the pleasure of meeting new faces offering refreshments and information to all.
David Allen were also very proud to sponsor the classes Texel Gimmer Shearling and British Blue unserved heifer not showing more than 2 broad teeth.
Our competition this year is “what’s my hobby?” where you have to match the hobby to the staff member. The competition proved difficult to some with tough hobbies such as, alpacas, rotary club and caravanning – the chance to win a luxury David Allen hamper filled with goodies meant young and old alike all tried their luck during the day. Thank you to everyone that entered – we will be announcing the lucky winner shortly.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the day and are now in preparations for the last of our summer shows, Dalston Show on Saturday 9 August – come along to our stand and say hello, we will be pleased to catch up with you!
