In the community

david-allen-charity-of-year

David Allen is a well-known, reputable employer across Cumbria and we recognise the importance of supporting the local community in which we live and work.

As a business we receive hundreds of requests for sponsorship and donations from many individuals, charities, and organisations, most of which are very deserving.

However, as our resources are limited we are unfortunately not able to assist every good cause.  For this reason we have chosen to focus our efforts on one charity per year, known as our Charity of the Year.

Charity of the Year

We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year such as bake days, quiz nights and treasure hunts, and all of the funds raised go to our Charity of the Year.

We choose our Charity of the Year in July each year with our ‘charity year’ running from August to August.

If you would like to be considered for our next Charity of the Year please submit a short written application (no more than 300 words) in support of your charity and send it to marketing@david-allen.co.uk or by post to:

Sponsorship and donation requests

Requests for sponsorship, donations or raffle prizes should be made by completing our request form.  Please note that the majority of our fundraising is focused on our Charity of the Year which dramatically reduces the level of help we give to other causes.

Please return your completed form by email to marketing@david-allen.co.uk or post to:

Give a day to charity

All employees of David Allen who wish to take part in voluntary, community, or charitable work are encouraged to do so.  In support of this initiative, each employee of the firm is granted one day per year, paid leave in order to get involved in a community or charity day.

This is a great way to support good causes and offers an opportunity for our colleagues to work together within their local community, on activities that directly benefit our local area.

Cumbria Community Foundation

If your application is unsuccessful then head over to the Cumbria Community Foundation website.

David Allen contribute to the Cumbria Community Foundation each year.  This worthwhile local cause looks to support people and organisations wishing to invest in the local community.  The Cumbria Community Foundation is an independent local charity and you could be just what they are looking for!

Jigsaw

Following another successful year of operating a Charity of the Year initiative we are delighted to announce Jigsaw as our new charity partner from September 2017.

Jigsaw provides day to day care, support and activities to children and young people living with a life limiting illness.  Care is provided in a home from home setting and each young person’s care is personalised towards their own needs.

The Jigsaw ethos is to work in partnership with the children and young adults, their family, carers and other professionals.  They aim to maintain the children and young adult’s normal routine and make each stay as special and as enjoyable as possible.

Jigsaw is a place of fun and laughter where children and young adults can stay and create memories which will last a lifetime.  Their welcoming and safe atmosphere provides a place for children and young adults to receive the care and attention they require.
