|Guests networking after the presentation|
The Growth Hub is a new initiative led by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce with partners including Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Social Enterprise Partnership, Growth Accelerator and Action with Communities in Cumbria (ACT) and education facilities such as University of Cumbria and Lancaster University Management School and University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN).
The Growth Hub is aimed at helping businesses unleash their potential. With the creation of the hub, businesses now have a one stop shop for business support, guidance, and advice teamed with networking and training opportunities.
After looking around the stalls set up by the Chamber and the Growth Hub’s partners, we listened to a presentation by Rob Johnston and Suzanne Calder of the Chamber, explaining all about the growth hub, what is will do and what opportunities are now available in Cumbria. The presentation explained that there are already over 200 businesses involved and benefiting from the project and we watched a short video from Calder Foods explaining how the Growth Hub has already helped their business.
Following the presentation, the event focused on networking and the attendees were able to learn how the Growth Hub is opening doors for a range of different businesses across our local area.
We look forward to working with the Growth Hub and think its fantastic that Cumbria now has a one stop shop with one title and one number for business support.
