David Allen were very proud to sponsor the 2015 Dalston Show on Saturday 8 August.
This year’s show certainly did us proud boasting some fantastic weather that encouraged the crowds to make their way to the show to enjoy not only the sunshine, but also the entertainment and livestock events that took place throughout the day.
In true David Allen style, our stand was bright and colourful and with everything in place, balloons blown up and bunting hung, we were ready to invite everyone to join us in enjoying the show.
Our calf, Finlay, made the journey to the show field and was joined by our cow Buttercup who roamed the field throughout the day offering balloons and cuddles for young and old alike. Keeping Buttercup and Finlay company, and manning our stand throughout the day, we had representatives from across the whole David Allen group of businesses.
Everyone from the David Allen team thoroughly enjoyed the show, soaking up the atmosphere and welcoming clients, contacts, friends and new faces on to our stand. Our team were on hand with refreshments, information, advice and a great view of both the main ring to one side and the horse ring to the other.
Our competition was as popular as ever, with this year’s theme being ‘Mini Me’. Entrants were asked to match the David Allen team member to a photo of their younger self. During the weeks leading up to the show members of our team had rummaged through old photo albums to find a picture of themselves as a baby and our competition participants were asked to guess which baby had grown up into which David Allen team member. This certainly caused a lot of laughs and even if we do say so ourselves, our team were very cute babies! The winner of our competition will be announced shortly so keep an eye out on our Twitter feed to see if you managed to work out who all of our ‘Mini Me’s’ were.
It wasn’t just the ‘Mini Me’ photos that brought a smile to the faces of people on our stand. During the afternoon we were joined on our stand by Stu-Di-Doo, the children’s entertainer, who was on hand to bring smiles to everyone’s faces with his magical talents, amazing balloon animal creations and his infectious laughter and spirit.
Our team got involved in the show in more ways than one with Sarah Priestley from our Agriculture team showing cattle in the main ring. We were very proud to watch her magnificent cattle awarded with Champion Limousin, Interbreed Beef Champion, and Beef Pairs Champion – well done Sarah!
This year’s show boasted a record number of attendees and the show’s organisers surpassed themselves once again, I would like to congratulate everyone who helped to make the show happen.
We would like to thank everyone who made the show possible and all who came along to see us on the day. We hope that you all enjoyed the show as much as we did and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2016.
