On Friday 23 June 2017 we were delighted to host our Platinum Ball at The Garden at Eden to celebrate 20 years in business while raising money for our Charity of the Year, the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

The evening began with a champagne reception where guests were welcomed by Las Vegas girls and had the opportunity to mingle with other guests before they were called to dinner and taken to their tables so the night could begin.  All the guests were wowed by the beautiful setting inside the marquee.  The pink and purple colour theme looked truly amazing!

Sid, from Explosive Productions was the compere for the evening and welcomed everyone to the Platinum Ball.  David Allen then took to the stage to greet and thank ECi Company, Hillcroft Park and Bendles Solicitors for sponsoring the event, without which the evening would not have been possible.  David went on to thank all guests and businesses for their support both on the evening and during his 20 years in business to date, as well as thanking Alison Welton, Carol Milnes and I for organising the event, his team of people for their ongoing hard work and dedication and last but by no means least, his wife for keeping him right!

From there we were treated to a delicious three-course meal accompanied with a few bottles of prosecco to wash it down.  Soon after the starter, an exciting game of ‘pink or purple’ was played with participating guests having the chance to win an iPad.

Entertainment flowed throughout the evening with showgirls, a professional cabaret show accompanied by a live band and even a Star Wars, Stormtrooper, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader dance off which left all of the guests applauding to a standing ovation when David Allen himself was unveiled on stage as ‘Darth Vader’!

Mid way through the evening a charity auction took place with nine packages being auctioned including a ‘London experience’ and a ‘pamper yourself’ package.  We were so lucky to have received some fantastic prize donations in the run up to the event which were well received by guests and raised a lot of money for our charity.

We were delighted to have our very own celebrity join us on the evening as Johnny Vegas joined the table of Hillcroft Park.  Johnny who has been filming locally for the hit television series ‘Home from Home’ took time out of his busy schedule to celebrate with us and even contributed a filming experience on set, as an extra for the BBC One comedy sitcom which was well received by guests and raised £1,700.  We would like to thank Johnny for his kindness and for the endless selfies he endured on the evening.

A special thank you to Carol Milnes from CA Events who did a fabulous job of helping us to organise the evening and to The Garden at Eden for the fantastic venue and service.  Last but by no means least thank you to Explosive Productions who delivered an array of unbelievable entertainment throughout the night.  It’s fair to say that we didn’t want the night to end.

We are delighted and somewhat astounded to announce that the evening raised £20,551 for the Great North Air Ambulance Service which surpassed all of our expectations and is a fantastic way to end our current charity year of fundraising.

We would like to take this opportunity once again to thank everyone who supported our Platinum Ball – thank you for you making it an amazing evening!
