Agricultural Partner Michael Peile is delighted to have been asked to judge this year’s Cumbria Farmer Awards, run by Newsquest.
David Allen are also sponsoring the Young Farmers’ Club of the Year award and the host, John Wharton.
The Cumbria Farmer Awards strive to find the county’s farming unsung heroes and are a reminder that the county’s dynamic farmers are the backbone of the food supply chain.
The awards celebrate the core sectors of farming; dairy, beef, sheep, and contracting. They also celebrate talented youngsters, who are rising stars in the industry.
Supporting our county’s farmers has never been more important. They have ensured we have had produce throughout Brexit and continued to work as “key workers” throughout the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Michael, who has been with David Allen for almost 20 years, has a wealth of knowledge in agriculture and farming. He said: “The awards are a great way to celebrate the successes of farming. There are highs and lows to every farming business, especially during the current Coronavirus Pandemic. We want to show our appreciation to the farming community and the rising star youngsters who are coming into the industry.”
To enter the awards, apply online at www.newsandstar.co.uk/farmerawards/ until Wednesday 30 September 2020. The awards will take place on Friday 29 January 2021.
