Everything Everywhere (EE) officially launched the superfast 4G connection on the 29 October 2013. It comes after the city was only able to reach the slower 3G signal while many other areas of the country were now experiencing the speedy 4G connection. EE described Carlisle as “an important city” and it is now part of 131 cities that now have access to 4G.
EE are currently the only mobile operator that offers full 4G connectivity throughout the country. EE now have over 1.2 million personal customers and over 3,000 business customers, since merging Orange and T-Mobile EE have taken a lot of customers from the likes of Vodafone and O2 due to its wide range of mobile signal and their competitive price plans.
The introduction of 4G into the area means that response times are up to ten times quicker than 3G. Mobile download speeds will increase up to 40 mb/s opening doors for many businesses to take advantage of.
With quick streaming, web working and content sharing now even quicker this will enable businesses to work on the move with many more devices becoming 4G enabled more of us will see the benefit.
