Dalston was buzzing with excitement last night as Father Christmas and his elves visited the village. They made their way around Dalston in his sleigh, visiting the residents and giving the children an opportunity to meet him before he sets off on his mammoth present giving journey on Christmas Eve.
Although we have faced some terrible weather recently, the night was clear (albeit cold) and Father Christmas was even able to get off his slay and have a dance with the children in the village square. After travelling around the village he parked his slay outside of the Blue Bell pub in the centre of Dalston and was joined by even more local residents.
Throughout the evening Father Christmas enlisted the help of his elves to collect donations for our Charities of the Year, Eden Valley Hospice and Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland, and we are thrilled to announce that we raised a wonderful £428 to add to our fundraising pot!
We would like to thank everyone who made a donation and joined in the fun with a special thanks going to the Rotary Club of Carlisle Castle for introducing us to Father Christmas and for all of their support throughout the evening.
We’ve heard that Father Christmas had such a great night that he will be coming back again next year!
