This week we are getting to know Senior Debt Recovery Specialist, Aaron Sambells. Aaron is an experienced High Court Enforcement Agent. He has a wide range of experience in the debt recovery field which makes him an asset to any client that needs help to recover a debt.
What is your job title and what are your main responsibilities?
I am a Senior Debt Recovery Specialist and I collect outstanding personal, business and rental monies due to my clients.
Firstly, I send the debtors a letter of claim/letter before action which will have all the outstanding amounts owed. I will then follow this up with a phone call. My aim is to get the debts paid in full at this stage.
If the debtors don’t respond, then I issue court proceedings for a County Court Judgment (CCJ) through a local court.
If this is ignored, I will instruct the High Court Enforcement to collect the balance in full or a suitable agreement to suit my client.
How did you get into Debt Recovery?
I have A-levels in Uniformed Public Services which is a great qualification to get for anyone looking to join any public service role. I finished this with a distinction grade.
I came across a High Court Enforcement job vacancy which interested me, I thought I would be able to gain great experience. I was then an enforcement agent for over six years dealing with various debts.
Originally from Manchester, I have since relocated to Cumbria with my family. I joined David Allen as Senior Debt Recovery Specialist in May and haven’t looked back.
What do you enjoy most about working in Debt Recovery?
My clients are my biggest motivation. Recovering the monies that are owed to them is extremely rewarding.
What do you feel most proud of in your life to date?
My children Charlie and Olive.
What drives you to do what you do? What motivates you?
Helping people get back the money they rightfully deserve.
What three words describe you the best?
Can you please tell us about a defining moment in your working life?
Passing my A-Levels to distinction level which provided me the option to go university. Instead I decided to work full time as an enforcement agent, this opened up a lot of career paths for me.
If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day, who would it be and why?
I am a huge boxing fan so it would have to be Tyson Fury. His recent comeback from 25 stone and depression to then win the WBC Heavyweight title is motivating and inspiring.
What is your strongest personal quality?
I have a lot of determination and will always see something out from start to finish no matter what.
What is something you have always wanted to try, but have been too scared to?
SAS who dares wins, I have always had an interest in the military.
Why should a client choose to work with yourself and the David Allen team?
My previous work as an experienced Enforcement Agent and my determination means I will ensure I deliver the best service possible. I have collected money off some of the most difficult debtors.
