Here at David Allen we are always keen to help local causes and charities and the Give us a Break appeal is close to our hearts.
The Give us a Break appeal has been set up by Dawn Raynor who is mother to two severely disabled teenage sons. Every day Dawn and her husband Peter wash, dress, feed, medicate and care for their 15 year-old boys.
The appeal's mission is to raise £100,000 to build a centre in Copeland with a soft play area, sensory room, hydro pool with large outdoor garden and outside cabin so the children are able to camp out in the garden.
Our Associate and West Cumbrian Business Manager Jane went to school with Dawn, and in support of their appeal, the firm have decided to donate 3 years accounting service, business advice and support which includes cash flows and fundraising support to Dawn and her cause which would usually cost over £10,000.
We have been following the appeal for the last few weeks and decided that we should do something to support. Robbie expressed his appreciation for such a generous donation and pointed out that our donation alone was 1/10th of the total in one!
We wish all possible success to Dawn and the Give us a Break appeal and urge everyone to donate as much as they can to a truly worthy cause.
