On Monday 14 September businesses from across Cumbria joined together at Carlisle Racecourse for Cumbria Business Growth Hub’s Growth Twenty15 event.
The day consisted of exhibitions, seminars, presentations and business clinics with some of Cumbria’s top businesses in attendance. I had the pleasure of attending one of the seminars hosted by Paul Wilson Bonner of Guru-U Ltd. This seminar focused on what factors certain leaders have that that give them the knack of being able to ask a certain question in a certain way so as to receive a positive response. This was compared with how leaders can ask a similar question, in a similar way, and receive a more negative response – exploring whether the ability to get a positive response is innate or something which can be learned. Thankfully Paul believes these skills can be learned by applying a mixture of emotional intelligence techniques and the ‘human givens’ approach which aims helps leaders develop within their roles. For more information on the human givens approach click here.
Growth Twenty15 is labelled as Cumbria’s biggest business event and we were delighted to have our David Allen stand there to showcase the range of services offered by our group of businesses. We had the opportunity to catch up with our clients and contacts and make the most of the opportunity to meet new faces from our local area. We love getting out and about and showcasing what it is that we do differently from other practices and explaining how this adds real value to the businesses we work with.
Growth Twenty15 was a great success with hundreds of different businesses both exhibiting and visiting throughout the day.
We would like to thank Cumbria Business Growth Hub for giving us the opportunity to exhibit at such a fantastic local event and we look forward to attending next year’s Growth Twenty16!
