Langholm Common Riding 2012

Posted: July 30th, 2012

On Friday 27 July I attended the Langholm Common Riding to watch the horses and riders ride round the town along with hundreds of other spectators.

It was a very early start and we were in Langholm for 7.15 am to watch everyone get ready for the day and to watch the cornet Andrew Elliot collect the flag.

All riders and horses got around safely (including my little sister who rode again this year) and they all looked like they had a great day.  There was some horse racing in the afternoon on the field and then at night we watched the cornet hand back the flag.

The weather was fantastic and we only had one rain shower in the afternoon but other than that it was dry and sunny.  It was a brilliant day and I think I can safely say everyone had a fantastic time.

Congratulations to the cornet Andrew Elliot, right hand man Lee Earsman and left hand man Graeme Murray.
