|Sandra and Adam|
Adam Henson is a well-known TV personality, familiar to many as a farmer presenting on BBC’s Countryfile.
On Thursday 20 September 2013, David, Michael and myself were invited by Lloyds TSB Agriculture team to an evening with Adam at Penrith Rugby Club and had the pleasure of listening to him deliver a passionate talk on his love of agriculture along with topical comments about his TV presenting and other media roles.
Adam is a second generation tenant farmer with a 650ha arable and livestock enterprise in the Cotswolds. He runs this with his friend and long-term business partner Duncan Andrews and is very progressive with the business but understands the day-to-day challenges farmers face.
Adam is the Lloyds Agriculture farming ambassador and promotes sustainability in the sector and is doing much to convey a positive image of modern farming, to not just the rural area, but across an much wider audience.
Lloyds TSB’s chosen charity are R.A.B.I (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) and representing them last night were a number of volunteers and also their regional manager Georgina Lamb, who gave a heartfelt speech about the work R.A.B.I do and the support they give. A raffle was held during the evening with all proceeds going to the charity.
A great evening and really inspiring.
