On Saturday 24 May, I had the pleasure of attending a masquerade ball held at The Crown & Mitre Hotel in Carlisle. I was very excited about the prospect of wearing a mask and after being formally invited and immediately set about searching for a glamorous mask to complement our outfits!
The ball was organised by Helen McKenzie of May Fifteen and celebrated their 10 year anniversary since being established. It was a double celebration as it was also Helen’s 40th birthday too!
Everyone arrived looking glamorous in their dresses, suits and of course their masks. Enjoying a beautiful 2 course meal and the wine flowed throughout the evening. After dinner there was a raffle where I won a bottle of wine and then the DJ set about getting everyone up dancing.
The evening was in aid of Tic Toc a local charity which is raising awareness of life-saving defibrillators. Tic Toc are working towards having these defibrillators in as many public places around Cumbria as possible and the evening provided a great opportunity to raise money for this worthwhile cause whilst increasing the awareness of Tic Toc.
I had a fantastic time and look forward to future May Fifteen events.
