Microsoft's security response centre currently releases security updates for all affected products simultaneously, giving users an advantage over attackers. This update process will conclude on 8 April with the end of support thus switching the advantage to attackers.
With only 23 days left to go businesses should have a timeline in place for replacing or updating computers that are running Windows XP or Office 2003. Strategic business computers should be identified first to ensure any sensitive data is not exposed. If your business is replacing computers altogether, you must give consideration to the disposal of your computer as part of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive).
