Has your farm been newly designated a Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZ) for 2017 around Skirwith, Penrith, Brampton or Kirkby Thore?
We can provide you with technical advice and the provision of record keeping services.
Since NVZ legislation came in to force it has been imperative that farmers with land falling within NVZ areas maintain the correct records, understand their responsibilities, and comply with the rules.
Recent consultations extending the current Nitrate Vulnerable Zones consequently proposes that areas around Skirwith, Penrith, Brampton and Kirkby Thore will now be designated as a NVZ.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs sent written designation notices in early 2017 to farmers who own or occupy land completely or partly within an NVZ. This notice tells you of the designation and the need to comply with NVZ rules.
The proposed new NVZ areas are outlined in brown on the map above and are diagonally lined on the map.
