I started my financial services career working for HBOS (Halifax Bank of Scotland) in home insurance claims. It was a good starting ground for me to understand financial services products. My husband’s job meant that we relocated from Nottingham to Carlisle and it was then that I transferred into the high street bank. My banking career started off with me learning the ropes as a cashier, then as a banking adviser before I was given the opportunity to study for my Certificate in Financial Planning. For a few years I was a Financial Adviser for Halifax. After having my daughter, I returned to work specialising in protection policies. I joined the David Allen financial services team in 2018.
My knowledge has been built up over ten years and my only focus is protection which means that I can keep up with changes happening in the protection industry, whether it be a new provider, new product or pricing restructure – so I know I can find the best cover at the best price for my clients.
It isn’t all just about the knowledge and experience of the role though, my passion for protection comes from my own personal experience. I love doing all the hard work for my clients as they see the end results. Finding cover for someone who thought they were uninsurable is so rewarding to me and no two clients are the same.
