On Friday 9 December David Allen Agriculture was proud to host an event on behalf of Penrith and the Border Agribusiness Club at our Dalston office. The club is made up of a group of farmers and professionals who meet regularly to discuss topical issues.
The evening began with members of the local farming community being greeted by our team before enjoying a truly delicious buffet (courtesy of The Old Bank City Pub and Chop House) and drinks reception. After all guests had taken the opportunity to mingle, seats were taken as the Chairman Steve Pattinson welcomed everyone and introduced the guest speaker for the evening.
We were delighted that Rory Stewart, Minister of State (Department for International Development) and Conservative MP for Penrith and the Border took the time out of his very busy schedule to present to us on the ongoing challenges being faced by the agricultural industry. Penrith and the Border Agribusiness Club was originally established by Rory and it was great to see him return and support his passion for the industry and our local economy. There was a lively discussion from various people with the topic of Brexit being of key debate.
We all had enjoyed the presentation and subsequent Q&A. Rory encouraged all feedback and took away some useful points! On behalf of David Allen Agriculture I was proud to host such a fantastic and well received evening.
