On Friday evening several of my colleagues and I attended the Penrith Chamber of Trade & Commerce Stars of Business Awards at the North Lakes Hotel in Penrith.
The evening was well supported by chamber members and other businesses from the local community and began with drinks on arrival followed by a delightful three course meal before the awards ceremony took place.
Categories for this years awards were as follows:
Independent Business of the Year, Independent Retailer of the Year, Independent Café/Restaurant of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to Business, Unsung Hero and Star of the Community.
David Allen were proud to sponsor the Independent Café/Restaurant of the Year award with this year’s finalists being, Bangkok Bistro Penrith, Salsa Mexican Bistro and Three Crowns Tea Shop. The award went to Salsa Mexican Bistro and I presented this to a very grateful and humble Steve Stables who manages the Bistro.
Following the awards ceremony and after successfully hosting the event Laura J of Laura J Entertainment took to the stage and provided the evening’s entertainment, filling the dancefloor into the early hours.
It was great to be part of the Stars of Business Awards and the event continues to grow year on year. It was fantastic to see successful businesses receiving the recognition they deserve for all of their hard work, commitment and passion for Penrith. The winners across each category were:
Independent Business of the Year – Eden Healthy Lifestyle Studio
Independent Retailer of the Year – J & J Grahams
Independent Café/Restaurant of the Year – Salsa Mexican Bistro
Outstanding Contribution to Business – Fiona Askins, Penrith Chamber of Trade Ambassadors
Unsung Hero – Kerryanne Wilde (Eden Flood Volunteers)
Star of the Community – Great North Air Ambulance
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Penrith Chamber of Trade and Commerce for hosting the event, North Lakes Hotel for the fabulous venue and meal and finally all involved for making it such a tremendous evening.
