David is the Managing Partner and is the founder of the accountancy practice. After leaving school David served a four year multi-skilled engineering apprenticeship and went on to gain an Honours Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering. Following this he decided on a change in career and trained as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales with a Carlisle accountancy practice. In 1997 he began working on his own from his home in Dalston and went on to build the practice to what it is today.
David is a general practitioner and works with a mixed portfolio of businesses on all accountancy and tax issues. He draws on his experience to assist businesses with strategic planning and development opportunities and enjoys helping people to realise their goals. He has a practical and proactive approach that you will find refreshing and inspirational. He is straight talking and flexible and available at times to suit you.
Outside of the practice, David is a Non-Executive Director of the University of Cumbria and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. He lives in Dalston with his wife and four children and has a keen interest in farming and enjoys spending time with his cattle and sheep.
