Partner and Senior Tax Consultant
Sue is an Associate and Senior Tax Consultant who joined the practice in August 2017. After gaining an Honours Degree in Accountancy and Financial Analysis at Newcastle University, Sue joined a big four firm in Liverpool where she gained her Association of Taxation Technician (ATT) qualification before returning to Cumbria where she qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) with a local practice. Since this time she has continued her professional development and qualified as a Trusts and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and has a passion for completing private client work.
With more than 20 years of valuable knowledge, Sue is a key member of our Tax team with a wealth of experience in tax planning and consultancy projects and specialist knowledge in personal and capital taxes. She will provide face to face advice on Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning, giving client’s peace of mind over succession issues, helping to minimise their tax liabilities and ensure all reliefs are secured and transactions are completed effectively and tax efficiently.
Sue also focuses on all aspects of property taxation, keeping clients up to date with the breadth of changes within the sector and ensuring the most tax efficient business structure is in place to suit individual circumstances.
Outside of work Sue lives in Beckfoot with her fiancé Daniel and between them they have four children; Naomi, Archie, Freddie and Pippa. She loves family life, spending time on the beach, riding her horse and competing in triathlons throughout the country. She is a keen open water swimmer having completed the 2.4 mile Ironman swim in Derwent Water in June 2017.
