How are you finding working remotely?
Its been a challenging few months! Working from home, as well as looking after my two boys and home schooling. The first few weeks were tough but I have managed to get into a sustainable routine. I have adjusted my working hours so that I can give the children the attention they need throughout the day. I wouldn’t have been able do this if it wasn’t for the flexibility that David Allen as a firm has given us.
What are you doing to keep in touch with the rest of the David Allen team?
I am keeping in touch with my colleagues via emails and regular phone calls to the office. Our HR team are making sure that we are kept up to date with any important changes. They are reminding us of the guidelines we should be following and ensuring we are all happy in our work environment.
How are you looking after your emotional well being?
The flexi-time that David Allen operates has given us extra family time which is great. I make sure that we get out for a daily walk or bike ride. Weekly quiz nights with friends has become our new ‘Saturday night’ which has been a great way to keep in touch with them.
What advice would you give to others working from home?
- Try to maintain a routine.
- If you are a ‘working from home parent’, firstly give yourself a big pat on the back, its not easy! Give you children the attention they need when they want it. Your working hours can be made up another time if you have the flexibility and your job role allows you to do so.
- Try to keep in touch with your colleagues as much as you can.
Tell us, what are your new co-workers like?
They have been great, but they do have their moments! They have adapted really well to me working from home.
