On Thursday 30 November, Amy Muirhead, Ian Sneddon and I entered the (early) Christmas Quiz held at The Usual Place, Dumfries and hosted by Gordon Kerr and his team from Savills.
Savills have been established in Dumfries for over 40 years and advise on various aspects of rural property matters and management, throughout South West Scotland.
The event was well attended with 25 teams entered, representing a wide range of local businesses. This gave us the opportunity to talk to other businesses about our Dumfries office and the wider David Allen brand.
The quiz consisted of 10 rounds. Five held in the first half and five in the second half, during the break we enjoyed some hot food. The beer, wine and soft drinks flowed throughout the night to help get us in the Christmas spirit.
The questions came from various subjects, which included: Britain, rural life, technology, sport, media, food and drink and within this included two picture rounds.
Despite being the smallest team on the night we did not finish last and collect the wooden spoon, congratulations to Thomson Roddick who claimed first place and were presented with the coveted tractor trophy.
Thank you to Gordon and his team for an entertaining night and we look forward to next year’s quiz. Well done team!
