Having a secure password is very important in keeping the information stored on your computer safe, however, some people do not think this is the case. For many, passwords may seem like a nuisance, but if we had no passwords protecting our information anyone could have the opportunity to access the data stored on our computers.
Complexity in your password is vital. Secure passwords must be at least eight characters long, contain at least one uppercase letter, and at least one form of punctuation. By having weak passwords in place you make it far easier for hackers to access your data leaving both your personal and business data open to security threats.
Cyber Essentials is a Government backed scheme which has been developed to provide clear guidelines organisations should put in place to mitigate the risk of internet based threats.
David Allen IT Solutions are an accredited Cyber Essentials organisation and can assess your business according to the Government’s programme to ensure your business is safe from cyber attacks. One of the many areas that is addressed by our IT Solutions team when going through the Cyber Essentials programme is the security of your data and the quality of the passwords that protect that data.
