We are delighted to announce two new appointments to our Tax team, Sue Winter and Lesley Kerr.
Sue joins as an Associate and Senior Tax Consultant with more than 20 years of valuable knowledge in the industry. After gaining an Honours Degree in Accountancy and Financial Analysis at Newcastle University, Sue joined a big four firm in Liverpool where she gained her Association of Taxation Technician (ATT) qualification before returning to Cumbria where she qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) with a local practice. Since this time she has continued her professional development and qualified as a Trusts and Estate Practitioner (TEP) and has a passion for working closely with clients.
With a wealth of experience in tax planning and consultancy projects, and specialist knowledge in personal and capital taxes Sue will provide face to face advice on Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax planning, giving client’s peace of mind over succession issues, helping to minimise their tax liabilities and ensure all reliefs are secured and transactions are completed effectively and tax efficiently.
Sue will also focus on all aspects of property taxation, keeping clients up to date with the breadth of changes within the sector and ensuring the most tax efficient business structure is in place to suit individual circumstances.

Lesley Ker also joins the team as a Tax Senior after relocating to the area from Glasgow. After completing an Honours Degree in Law and Spanish at the University of Strathclyde, she began her career in personal tax. Since this time she has studied and gained her ATT and CTA qualifications.
Lesley looks after the tax and business affairs of a wide range of individuals including professional partnerships and high net worth individuals. She works closely with the team of Tax Assistants ensuring that they are up to date with constantly changing tax legislation and that we are advising our clients when we become aware of anything which may allow them to reduce their tax liabilities.
