Recent figures released by the Debt Advisory Centre reveal that a high proportion of adults have had a County Court Judgment (CCJ) registered against them in the last five years. Nearly one in ten UK adults have had a CCJ registered against them – this is the equivalent to more than four million people.
Men were shown to be more likely than women to have had a CCJ against them, with figures of 10.1% for men, compared to 6.1% for women.
Young people are also a popular group to have had a CCJ. Over 14% of 18-24 year olds have had a CCJ against them, compared to 2.1% of over 55 year olds.
If there are four million CCJs in the UK, we wonder how many creditors actually get their money back?
Once a creditor has obtained a CCJ against a debtor, there are a number of ways to enforce that CCJ such as: County Court Bailiffs, High Court Enforcement Officers, Attachment of Earnings Orders, Charging Orders and Third Party Debt Orders.
Maybe you have a CCJ registered against someone and haven’t yet recovered your money? If this is the case then get in touch with our team and we can discuss the options available to help you to recover is rightfully yours.
