Tip of the week – Avoid bad debt by keeping records

Posted: September 4th, 2014

It is important that you keep a record of all the communication that you have had with a customer such as letters or a log of any telephone calls.  This means that if for some reason you are away from the office a colleague can pick up a client’s file and fully understand their history, helping them decide on the best course of action.

Always keep bounced cheques as a record as they indicate the customer’s acceptance that they owe you the money.

If legal action is needed, we can help you take further action, be it corresponding with your customer or proceeding through the court system. For more information contact our Debt Recovery Specialists today on 01228 713070.
