The very popular Whitehaven Festival took place this weekend and was a huge success with over 200,000 visiting the town.
The festival featured live music, street entertainment, food and craft stalls, cookery demonstrations and much more.
|Jean-Christophe Novelli and Rosemary Shrager in the hospitality area|
My husband James and I received tickets giving us unlimited access to the hospitality area where we were fortunate to be able to listen to McFly (who were amazing starting the show on the Friday evening) and spend time in the company of Jean-Christophe Novelli, Rosemary Shrager, former Coronation Street star now famous cheese-maker Sean Wilson, organisers and other festival goers.
Among the other visiting ships was HMS Pursuer whose commanding officer is Lieutenant Gary Bickley of Workington and who was a neighbour of Vicky Johnston from our Marketing department! Lt Bickley called at his home town before sailing to Whitehaven for the festival.
We had a great time with family and friends and are already looking forward to next year.
