Darren Edmondson Workington Reds Manager

Workington Reds played Worcester City on Saturday 6 April 2013 and the main match day sponsors, Lakes College, invited us to attend as VIP guests.

The College catering students provided lunch a half time buffet and we were welcomed into the Bill Shankley Lounge for pre-match drinks.  This is where manager Darren Edmondson came and talked to all the guests and gave us an insight into his match day tactics.

Reds made a positive start having three attempts at goal very early. They took the lead in the 66th minute when Gareth Arniston scored the winning goal.

This is the first time I had attended a live professional match and the atmosphere was amazing.  To see the commitment of the teams and supporters was much better than watching at home on the TV.  James, the kids and I will definitely be returning to Borough Park it was a great family day out.

I would like to thank Danny Braithwaite, Head of Curriculum at Lakes College, for making us very welcome and Dave Wilson of Workington Reds for taking good care of us.
