When and where was your Charity founded?
It was founded in 1997, originally covering Dumfries, but now we cover the whole county of Dumfries and Galloway.
What service do you provide?
We are an early intervention service which promote the well-being of vulnerable young people, aged 8-18, by encouraging successful transitions at difficult periods in their lives, building social networks and offering a range of coping strategies.
How has the Charity evolved over the years- have there been any notable milestones?
We started in a really small way in Dumfries and have now built up our support network to over 70 befrienders!
Can you identify a key factor in the success of the Charity?
It is down to the dedication and hard work of our staff and volunteers who really care about the welfare of young people.
Do you have plans for future growth and development?
We are currently expanding from a maximum of 50 young people being befriended at any given time to 62, which is amazing growth!
How has David Allen helped/advised or contributed to the Charity?
