Alanah Smith

I am an Accounts Assistant within the Agricultural Specialist team at David Allen, where my role includes drafting and submitting VAT returns, preparing and finalising client accounts, and managing client correspondence.

My journey with David Allen began in the Administration department, where I was responsible for issuing client fees.  I later transitioned into the Agriculture department and undertook my Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeships in Accountancy.  Having previously prepared VAT returns for my personal family business, I already had a strong understanding of bookkeeping and continue to grow my accountancy knowledge.  Experiencing David Allen’s professionalism as a client inspired me to join their team and contribute to the same high standard of service for clients.

One of the aspects I value most is the supportive team culture, colleagues are always willing to help each other, which creates a collaborative and positive working environment.  I particularly enjoy the rewarding challenge of drafting accounts on time and my ability to work efficiently gives me a real sense of fulfillment.  In addition to my apprenticeships, I hold Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications in Business Administration.

Outside of work, my family and I keep sheep and cattle, and as a parent of two children, life is always busy and full of variety.
