Amber Carruthers

Honesty is one of the values that matters most to me and it is something that really resonates with me at David Allen and in the way we support both colleagues and clients.

I have always enjoyed working with numbers, particularly in maths at school, which led me to explore accounting through work experience with two accountancy firms. Those experiences confirmed that it was a career I could see myself pursuing. Alongside this, I studied A Level Business, which helped develop my understanding of how businesses operate.

Having heard positive things about David Allen through my parents, who are clients of the firm, I knew it was a well respected company and somewhere I would be proud to start my career. I was keen to enter the world of work, and the opportunity to gain a professional qualification while earning, made an apprenticeship the ideal route for me.

Since joining the team, I have found everyone to be incredibly supportive and willing to share their knowledge. It is a positive environment where I have felt welcomed from day one and encouraged to develop my skills and confidence. My goal is to become a qualified accountant, develop my expertise and build strong relationships with clients, helping them to run their businesses as smoothly and successfully as possible.

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, hiking, spending time with friends and travelling. I love exploring new cities and experiencing different cultures and I hope to continue travelling more in the future.
