Amy Muirhead

I joined David Allen in 2017 and have had the privilege of leading our Dumfries office since then.  Over the years, I have enjoyed helping to grow our presence in the region while working alongside a fantastic team dedicated to supporting clients across South West Scotland.  In 2025, I was delighted to become an Associate of the firm, before being appointed Partner the following year, which was a proud milestone in my career with David Allen.

As a Chartered Accountant in South West Scotland, I work with a wide range of owner managed limited companies, sole traders and partnerships, providing practical accountancy and tax advice tailored to their individual needs.  I take pride in being approachable and readily available to my clients, building long term relationships based on trust and understanding. Helping business owners navigate challenges, identify opportunities and focus on what they do best is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.

What I enjoy most about working at David Allen is the people.  I am fortunate to work alongside forward-thinking colleagues who are all focused on delivering the very best outcomes for our clients.  Our clients regularly comment on our willingness to go the extra mile, and I work closely with my team to ensure that exceptional levels of service and support are delivered consistently.  Seeing clients and their businesses grow, knowing we have played a small part in their success, is something I find incredibly rewarding.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to developing my knowledge and expertise so that I can continue to provide practical and comprehensive advice.  The needs of our clients are constantly evolving, and I believe it is important to continue learning and adapting so we can offer the best possible support.
Away from the office, I am Company Secretary of RHET Dumfries and Galloway Countryside Initiative and Wallets’ Mart Castle Douglas Limited. Having grown up as a farmer’s daughter, I have always remained closely connected to the agricultural sector and rural communities.  This background gives me a good understanding of the challenges facing farming businesses and is something that continues to shape my approach when working with clients.  Plus when time allows, I enjoy helping my husband on the family farm. Farming life has taught me the value of hard work, resilience and practicality, qualities that I bring to my role every day.
