Daniel Legg

My first experience of Accountancy came through work experience at David Allen’s Workington office during Sixth Form.  The experience gave me a real insight into the profession and confirmed that it was the career path I wanted to pursue. I was particularly impressed by the positive atmosphere, supportive culture and the enthusiasm of everyone I met.

Having enjoyed both Maths and Business throughout school and sixth form, accountancy felt like a natural fit.  As I explored the profession further, I also recognised the importance of communication and relationship building, something that linked closely to my Psychology studies and showed me that accountancy is about much more than numbers.

I chose to join David Allen because of the strong impression it made during my work experience and open days.  The firm’s commitment to supporting our people, clients and local communities stood out to me, making it somewhere I was excited to begin my career.

Outside of work, I am a keen football fan and hold a season ticket at Middlesbrough FC, attending most home matches throughout the season.  I have also recently taken up padel and joined a club in Workington, which has helped me further develop my teamwork, resilience and determination.

My future goal is to ultimately achieve chartered status.
