Emma Laurie

I always thought Tax was about numbers but it is so much more, it gives me the opportunity to support people, solve problems and help clients feel confident about their financial position.

As a Tax Senior at David Allen, I work with sole traders, partnerships and company directors, preparing self-assessment tax returns and helping clients understand their tax responsibilities.  My role is about making sure clients pay the right amount of tax, while also identifying areas where they might be able to make tax savings in a compliant and practical way.

I enjoy continuing to build my knowledge across personal tax and business tax, as every client has different circumstances and priorities.  Being able to provide clear tax advice, answer questions and support clients through the process is what I find most rewarding.

I joined David Allen because I wanted to be part of a business where clients are at the centre of everything.  Our team is incredibly welcoming and supportive, and there is a real sense that everyone is willing to go above and beyond to help both clients and colleagues.

Receiving positive feedback from clients is something I take real pride in, as it shows I have helped them feel supported and confident. Within the team, I bring a motivated and approachable attitude and am always willing to help where I can, whilst being keen to continue my own development and my tax knowledge, grow my experience and work towards progressing my career.

Away from my role, I enjoy walking in the Lake District and I am currently completing the Wainwrights. I also enjoy socialising and travelling, whether that is visiting a new city or exploring another country.
