Fern Mawby

I am a third year student studying Rural Business Management at the University of Glasgow’s Dumfries Barony campus.  My journey with David Allen began with a two week work experience placement, where I had the opportunity to work with each department and explore the variety of career paths within the firm.  I have since returned as an Undergraduate Accounts Intern, where I assist the team with preparing Accounts for clients.

I have always been drawn to organisations that make a meaningful impact locally, which is what first attracted me to David Allen, where the collaborative culture, supportive environment and commitment to developing people stood out instantly.  I have developed a strong appreciation for the way the team works closely together, creating an environment where knowledge is shared and support is always available.  This has been valuable in developing both my confidence and technical understanding.

I enjoy building genuine relationships with both colleagues and clients and I am particularly motivated by learning new skills and developing my knowledge, with a long term goal of supporting clients and contributing to the continued success of the businesses we work with.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, particularly exploring new hiking locations, as well as caring for animals.  I also enjoy cooking and baking, often trying new recipes from around the world, and value time spent with family and friends.
