Isabel Christmas

Outside of work, I enjoy artistic gymnastics and hiking, both of which encourage resilience, discipline and a commitment to continuous improvement. Staying active and challenging myself has helped shape my approach to both life and work, always looking for opportunities to learn, develop and achieve new goals.

This mindset is one of the reasons I enjoyed my week of work experience at David Allen in 2023. The opportunity to gain an insight into the roles and responsibilities of an accountant confirmed that it was a career I wanted to pursue. Just as importantly, the friendly working environment and the willingness of staff to support one another made a lasting impression and showed me the type of workplace I wanted to be part of.

During my studies, I achieved an A* in my Extended Project Qualification, which explored how the working environment can impact individual performance. This gave me a greater appreciation of the importance of workplace culture and reinforced why David Allen stood out to me as a business. Today i work as an Accounts Assistant in the Traders team, working mainly with Sole Traders and Partnerships.

As I continue to develop my career, I look forward to expanding my knowledge, supporting businesses and individual clients with their finances, and ultimately working towards becoming a Chartered Accountant.
