Jodie Makar

As Agriculture Training and Development Supervisor at David Allen, I support our Agriculture team by combining hands-on experience in agricultural accounts with a strong focus on developing our people.  I work closely with colleagues at all stages of their careers, helping them build confidence, strengthen their technical knowledge and understand the practical realities our farming clients face.

One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is the opportunity to share knowledge and help others progress.  I take great pride in the relationships I have built with both clients and colleagues, and I am particularly passionate about finding ways to improve efficiency within the department.  Watching our apprentices seize opportunities and seeing how far they can go within the firm gives me a real sense of satisfaction and reinforces why investing in people matters so much.

Looking ahead, I am excited to continue building and supporting our team, while creating the best possible development pathways for our apprentices.  Helping to shape a future workforce that shares the same ambition, values and depth of knowledge that we champion at David Allen is something I care deeply about.

David Allen encourages ambition and creates an environment where we push and support each other to succeed.  I have also been able to strike a healthy balance between my professional development and family life, thanks to the firm’s flexible working policy.  This has allowed me to grow in my role while raising my children and being present for the moments that matter most.
